The dry season is almost over. Big trees with fat trunks start to grow green leaves. They know the rain is coming. Other animals wake up, too. A tiny chameleon comes out of its egg. It lives in a very dry place. This little animal has a very short life. It stays inside an egg under the ground for nine months. Then, it only has eight weeks to grow big. It must eat a lot and grow fast before the heavy rain starts. At the same time, the first drops of rain wake up the mouse lemurs. They sleep for a long time during the dry days. Now, the females wake up. The males are very excited. They only have one night a year to find a mate. The males fight each other to win a female. Finally, the mating begins. Nature is busy again.
