Amazon vs. SpaceX: The High-Stakes Battle for Space Internet | WSJ (Level 1)

Big companies are building internet in space. SpaceX is the leader. They have thousands of satellites in space. Amazon is also building satellites, but they only have a few hundred. These satellites fly close to Earth. This area is called Low Earth Orbit. Because they are close, they give fast internet to people on the ground. However, building this system is very hard and costs a lot of money. The companies need thousands of satellites to cover the whole world. Another problem is that the Earth is mostly water. Satellites spend a lot of time over oceans where nobody lives. To make money, companies sell internet to ships and airplanes. In the future, the space internet business will grow very big. Many companies want to win this space race.
