Chameleon Fights Off Rival Male | BBC Earth (Level 1)

After the rains, trees turned green again. Little Labord's chameleons grew very quickly. The male is now five times bigger than before. He wears bright breeding colors. The female also looks beautiful. The male tastes a branch with his tongue. He knows the female passed by. But he must fight another male first. These chameleons have very short lives. They only have one chance to mate. The female may already be pregnant. She cannot wait. She will lay her eggs and soon die. The males will also die. Their life is only in the short wet season. They live fast and die young. This is a good way to live when there is little food for most of the year.
