The speaker tells a personal story. When he was a young man, he was driving with his girlfriend, Michelle. He was not careful and hit a telephone pole. Michelle died. He felt terrible for many years. He felt guilty and full of regret. He thought he was alone until he found the Hyacinth Fellowship. This group is for people who accidentally killed someone. They help each other move forward. He learned that forgiving himself was not helpful. Instead, he chose to do something good. He started an art scholarship in Michelle's name. She wanted to be an artist. This action honored her. He now believes we can use our regrets to do positive things. Regrets can teach us to correct the future.
