'Grandma Joy and Me' follows a grandmother and grandson's journey to every national park (Level 1)

Eleven years ago, Brad Ryan took his 85-year-old grandmother Joy camping in the Smoky Mountains. She had never seen a mountain before. That trip grew into a big adventure. They visited all 63 national parks in the United States. Joy became the oldest person to begin and finish visiting every US national park. After that, they visited all seven continents. They traveled with a nonprofit group that organizes educational trips. Joy lived in the same house for 67 years. She did not know how beautiful the world was outside. Brad says the trips helped him with depression. He had a hard time in veterinary school. Traveling with Joy made him stronger. They talked about difficult things and healed as a family. Joy gives advice: never say no. If someone asks you to go somewhere, get your bag and go.
