The Amur leopard is the rarest cat in the world. Winter is a very hard time for them. There are no leaves on the trees to hide behind. There are no small animals to catch. A mother leopard must find food for her young baby. He is one year old. He needs his mother for one more year. They find a dead animal. Some birds left it behind. The meat is very cold and hard. The mother opens the tough skin. Now, her baby can eat the meat easily. Life is very difficult for these cats. There are only 40 Amur leopards left in the wild. The cold winter makes it hard for them to have babies and grow. It takes a long time for a baby leopard to grow up here. But if they can survive the winter, spring will come. Spring will bring more food, and life will be easier.
