How the U.S. Military Is Poised to Enforce Trump’s Blockade | WSJ (Level 1)

The United States is starting to block ships from going to Iran. The US president wants to put pressure on Iran. To do this, the US Navy is using more than 15 big ships in the Middle East. These ships stay away from the coast of Iran to be safe. Some ships are very large and carry helicopters. Helicopters can fly soldiers to the ships they want to stop. Other US ships use small boats to reach the stopped ships. If a ship does not want to stop, special soldiers like Navy SEALs will take control of it. Sometimes, the US might wait until the ships are very far away in the ocean before stopping them. Experts say this plan will take a long time to work. However, just the fear of being stopped might hurt the economy of Iran.
