On Saturday, the United States and Israel launched air strikes against Iran. President Donald Trump said the attack was necessary to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons. He warned that the war might last a long time, but he also told the Iranian people that this was their chance to change their government. The conflict started because the two countries could not agree on a deal. The US wanted Iran to stop making powerful missiles and to stop helping fighter groups in other countries. Iran refused these demands. During the recent attack, the leader of Iran was killed. In response, Iran fired missiles at US bases and oil facilities in nearby countries. Now, experts see three possible futures for Iran. First, the government might change to a better one. Second, a new and stricter leader might take control. Third, a dangerous civil war could start, which would be very bad for the whole region.
