For the past week, big protests have been happening in Iran. The problem started because of money. The value of Iran's currency, the rial, dropped very low. This made it hard for businesses to buy and sell goods. At first, shopkeepers in the markets were the ones complaining. However, the situation quickly became dangerous. The government tried to stop the protests with violence. Security forces hurt and killed some people. This made the public very angry. Now, the protests have spread from small towns to big cities. People are not just angry about money anymore; they are angry at the government itself. In the past, the Iranian government has always used force to stay in power. But this time might be different. The economy is very weak because of sanctions and war. Also, the government leaders are fighting each other. The Supreme Leader wants to be tough on the protesters, but the President says they should listen to the people. It is a very difficult time for the country.
