Is Trump Just After Venezuela’s Oil? (Level 1)

US President Donald Trump recently made a big announcement. He plans to stop Venezuela from selling oil to other countries. He even sent navy ships to the coast of Venezuela. Trump suggested that Venezuela's oil should belong to the United States. This is important because Venezuela has a lot of oil. In fact, it has the largest oil reserves in the world. However, Venezuela does not sell much oil right now. There are three reasons for this. First, the oil is very thick and hard to turn into gasoline. Second, the government has managed the oil companies poorly. Third, strict rules from other countries make it hard for them to fix their machines. If the US takes control, they could fix these problems. This would bring more oil to the market and lower gas prices for American drivers. However, low prices might hurt American oil companies, because they need high prices to make money.
