On Sunday, Japan held a major election. The results were a big surprise. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and her party, the LDP, won a huge victory. Before this election, the party had many problems. There were scandals about money, and previous leaders had to quit. However, Takaichi took a risk. She called for an early vote to prove her strength. The plan worked perfectly. Her party won 316 seats in the government. This is the highest number ever for them. Takaichi is Japan’s first female Prime Minister. She is very popular with the people. Now, she has the power to make big changes. She wants to fix the economy and spend more money to help the country grow. The other political parties did not do well. Because of this win, Takaichi can pass new laws much faster than before.
