A heat wave is a period of two, three, or more days when the weather is very hot. In some places, like Ontario, Canada, a heat wave can bring daytime temperatures in the mid-30s Celsius. At night, it stays warm, often in the mid-20s. This week, a heat wave is hitting Ontario. On the first day, it was already 29 degrees by late morning. The highest temperatures may reach 35 degrees. Heat waves are hard for people and farmers. They have to drink a lot of water and stay in the shade. The heat can feel like it never stops. Sometimes, a big storm comes when the heat wave finally ends.
