NVIDIA’s AI Finally Solved Walking In Games (Level 1)

In many video games, computer characters do not walk perfectly. Usually, the game moves a simple invisible shape, and the computer plays a recording of walking on top of it. This causes problems. Sometimes, the feet slide on the ground. This looks very strange. Now, scientists have a new solution. They created characters that use real physics. These digital people have bodies with joints, like knees and ankles. They must learn how to walk without falling. At first, the AI characters fall down often. However, a computer program acts like a teacher. It tells the characters to try again until they walk correctly. This system has two parts. The "Brain" plans the path. The "Muscle" moves the legs. They talk to each other to avoid falling on rocks or stairs. This technology makes games look more real. It is also useful for self-driving cars. It helps cars learn how to drive safely around unpredictable people.
