Should There Be a Wealth Limit for Politicians? | Idea Knock Down | TED (Level 1)

Sally Kohn and Jeff Maurer share their thoughts on democracy. They believe democracy can work for everyday people if we remove money from politics. Right now, many elected officials are very rich and do not represent most people. Kohn says democracy is not working well for many, and this is why some countries are turning to authoritarian rule. Maurer thinks the word 'bipartisan' is overused because two political parties cannot represent all Americans. Both agree that trust and hope are important. Kohn finds hope in small acts of kindness, like people being polite at a stop sign. They believe everyone has a responsibility to make the world better.
