There is a special pool of water near a volcano. A hot spring fills the pool with boiling water. Fish called tilapia live in the cool parts of the water. Baby fish stay very close to their mother. At night, the pool becomes dangerous. Crocodiles come into the water to hunt. The fish cannot see well in the dark, so they are scared. They jump to escape the crocodiles. The mother fish does not swim away. She stays to protect her babies. The crocodiles can feel the heat of the fish. When the sun comes up, the crocodiles stop hunting. The mother fish is safe. Where are her babies? They are safe, too. They were hiding inside her mouth all night. This happens every night because the fish have nowhere else to go.
