Every human life starts as a tiny cell. We grow inside our mothers until we are born. Then, we become independent people. However, having a body can be difficult. We have to eat, sleep, and we can get sick or hurt. Sometimes, seeing blood or thinking about death makes us feel scared and uncomfortable. This feeling is called "abjection." It reminds us that we are fragile. Some thinkers look at how people act and feel sad. They see that humans can be mean, selfish, or violent. This dislike for humanity is called "misanthropy." A philosopher named David Benatar goes even further. He believes that life has too much pain. He thinks it is wrong to have children because they will suffer. This idea is called "antinatalism." Even though life is hard, we are already here. We cannot choose to be born, but we can choose how to live. We can find love, make art, and help others. Humans are special because we can understand our pain and try to make the world a better place.
