The Battle Tearing MAGA Apart Explained (Level 1)

Inside the Republican Party, there is a growing fight about foreign policy and the future of Donald Trump's movement. Trump has told donors privately that he wants Vice President J.D. Vance to be his successor, but he has not endorsed anyone. Some moderate Republicans still hope Secretary of State Marco Rubio could lead instead. Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson is hinting at a third party, and Nick Fuentes is pushing an extreme version of MAGA. The party is split between interventionists like Rubio and anti-interventionists like Vance. Trump has allowed both sides to act, causing confusion. Older Republicans tend to support a more active foreign policy, while younger ones prefer less involvement. After Trump went to war in Iran, these divisions grew. Vance may face problems because Carlson and Fuentes are also in the anti-interventionist camp. This division could shape the 2028 race.
