The Gravity-Defying Future of Manufacturing | Schendy Kernizan | TED (Level 1)

Schendy Kernizan works at Rapid Liquid Print. He is making a new way to create objects. Normal 3D printing is good, but it has problems. You need a flat surface to start. Gravity makes complex shapes hard to make. Extra support parts are thrown away, causing waste. Rapid Liquid Print prints objects inside a special gel. The gel is mostly water turned into gelatin. It holds the shape as the printer draws it, so gravity is not a problem. After printing, you take the object out and wash it. The gel can be reused. This is sustainable. This method is fast and allows custom colors. It helps make prosthetics, which are body parts. Normally, patients get small, medium, or large sizes. Now, a doctor can scan a patient in the morning and have a custom part ready the next day. In the future, many products could be made just for you.
