The Missing Ingredient in Every Peace Deal | Hiba Qasas | TED (Level 1)

Many people in the world live in war. In the past, people tried to make peace by talking about feelings. But this often fails. A peace expert from Palestine saw this problem. She noticed that peace must start with real needs, not just hope. After the war started again, she brought Israeli and Palestinian leaders together. These were not regular people. They were business and security leaders. She used a new method. First, they talked about what they needed. Both sides needed safety and a good future for their children. Next, they made a fair trade. Palestinians get their own state, and Israelis get safety. After they agreed on this, they started to understand each other's pain. Now, more than 550 leaders work together for peace. The expert says we must build peace on shared needs. This makes peace strong and real.
