Miles Taylor worked for the US government. After the September 11 attacks, he saw politicians work together. But years later, things changed. He worked for the President. He thought the President was dangerous. Many other workers agreed, but they were afraid to speak. Miles decided to write a warning to the public. At first, he did not use his name. Later, he told the world who he was. Because of this, many people sent him terrible messages. They threatened to hurt him and his family. He lost his home and his job. Today, many Americans are afraid to share their true thoughts. They worry about getting hurt. Miles believes this fear is bad for the country. He says we must not hide. If more people speak the truth bravely, the country will become safer and better.
