The Two New Blocs Dividing the Middle East (Level 1)

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently met with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Muhammad bin Zayed, in New Delhi. The two leaders want to strengthen the friendship between their countries. During the visit, they signed several important agreements. One major deal allows India to buy gas from the UAE for the next ten years. They also plan to double the amount of money they make from trading with each other. There are currently 4.3 million Indian people living in the UAE, so this relationship is very important. In addition to business, the leaders agreed to work together on defense and security. This decision happens as other countries, like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, are also teaming up. It looks like two different groups are forming in the region. By signing these deals, India and the UAE are showing that they will support each other in the future.
