The Unexpected Wonders of My Son’s Short Life | James G. Robinson | TED (Level 1)

James lives in Brooklyn, New York. He has three sons. His son Nadav was born with a heart problem. Doctors tried to help with surgeries, but Nadav died when he was five years old. James was very sad, but he also felt grateful. He learned many things from his son. When Nadav was four, the family traveled to Australia. Suddenly, Nadav got very sick. He had an emergency operation. They stayed in a hospital far from home. Later, they went to a hospital in Philadelphia. After many months, Nadav got better and they went home. But later, he died. James remembers feeling proud of his son. He says being Nadav's father was a gift. He learned that life is full of mystery. Sometimes we cannot understand everything. But love teaches us important lessons.
