Trump Blockades Hormuz: What? (Level 1)

The United States and Iran had a big meeting. They talked for many hours but could not agree. Because of this, the US President announced a new plan. The US Navy will block ships going to or coming from Iran. They will also stop ships that pay money to Iran to use the Strait of Hormuz. This is a very important water path. The US wants to stop Iran from making money from oil. If Iran makes less money, the US hopes Iran will change its actions. However, many experts think this plan will not work. Past rules did not change Iran's mind. Also, stopping ships could cause big problems for the whole world. Oil prices will go up. This means gas will cost more money everywhere. Iran might also fight back by blocking other important water paths. This would make things even worse for everyone.
