For many years, the US dollar has been the most important money in the world. Countries use it for trade and to keep their money safe. But this might change soon. People are worried about the US dollar. The US has a lot of debt. Also, US leaders are making unpredictable choices. Because of this, some countries are buying gold instead of keeping dollars. Why is the dollar still strong? Everyone uses it because everyone else uses it. This is called a network effect. It is hard to stop using it. If the dollar loses its power, what will happen? The world might use different money in different places. Europe would use the Euro. Asia would use the Yuan. America would use the dollar. This could make world trade harder and more expensive. It could also cause problems if countries do not work together during hard times.
