How do you sleep at night? Some people sleep on their backs, and others sleep on their stomachs. However, most adults sleep on their sides. Experts say there is no single "best" position for everyone. Each position affects your body differently. Sleeping on your stomach is the least popular choice. Doctors often say it is bad for your back. However, it can help some people breathe better. Sleeping on your back is good for back pain, especially if you put a pillow under your knees. But be careful. This position can make you snore. It is not good for people who have trouble breathing at night. Most doctors recommend sleeping on your side. It helps keep your spine straight. If you have stomach pain or heartburn, the left side is usually better. If you have heart problems, the right side might be safer. Don't worry if you move around at night. Most people move 20 to 30 times while they sleep. This is normal and healthy for your body.
