Finding love is usually a happy event. Imagine a nice person enters your life. They listen to you, they are kind, and they want to be with you. You go on trips together and meet each other's friends. It feels like you have finally found a home. However, for some people, this kindness feels scary. They start to pull away. They might pick fights, say they are sick, or claim they are too busy to see you. Think of a person who was a prisoner for a long time. They had very little food to eat. If you suddenly give them a huge, rich meal, they cannot eat it. Their stomach is too small. This is like a person who did not get enough love as a child. When they receive real love as an adult, they cannot handle it. It feels wrong to them. Because they are scared, they decide to run away. They might blame their partner and say, "You are controlling me." They end the relationship quickly to feel safe again. If this happens to you, remember one thing. They did not leave because you were bad. They left because you were too good, and they did not feel ready for that kindness.
