California is having an important election for governor. Many people think the state has big problems. Housing is very expensive. Taxes are high, and the state budget is huge. Because of this, some people and businesses are moving away. For many years, famous Democratic governors led California. Now, new Democrats want the job. Tom Steyer is a rich businessman with progressive ideas. Xavier Becerra has a lot of government experience. There is also a Republican candidate named Steve Hilton. Former President Donald Trump supports him. Hilton wants to lower taxes to help workers and keep businesses in the state. However, it is hard for a Republican to win in California because there are many more Democratic voters. Voters must now decide who can fix the state's problems.
