Why 2026 Probably Won’t be Good for Russia's Economy (Level 1)

Russia is fighting a war in Ukraine. To pay for this war, Russia sells a lot of oil and gas. In 2022, oil prices were very high. This helped Russia make a lot of money despite sanctions from other countries. However, the situation is changing. Now, Russia is earning much less money from energy exports. Experts say that 2026 will be a very bad year for the Russian economy. There are a few reasons for this. First, the price of oil around the world is falling. Second, other countries like the USA and Guyana are producing more oil. This creates too much supply in the market. Finally, Russia must sell its oil at a cheap price to find buyers. Because of these problems, it will be much harder for Russia to pay for its military in the future.
