Why Are Israeli Forces Destroying American Homes in Lebanon? | WSJ (Level 1)

In southern Lebanon, Israeli forces destroyed many buildings in the town of Bint Jbeil. Some of these buildings were homes owned by American citizens. These people live in Dearborn, Michigan, but their families are from Lebanon. One man worked at the Ford car factory and saved money to build a house in Bint Jbeil. He dreamed of living there with his family. He told his children to take care of the house, but one day they saw a picture and the house was gone. Israel says it only destroyed buildings that Hezbollah fighters used. But for many families, losing their homes is very painful. The destruction is still happening.
