Why "Boots on the Ground" Suddenly Looks Inevitable (Level 1)

Recently, the United States and Iran talked about peace. However, this peace might not happen. Now, the US looks ready for a fight. There are three main reasons for this. First, the US is sending many soldiers to the Middle East. They are sending special fighting groups to bases in Israel and Jordan. Second, the US government is asking for $200 billion more for the military. Third, US leaders told Israel to prepare for a longer war. The two countries cannot agree on a deal. The US wants Iran to stop its nuclear program. Iran wants the US to leave the area. Because they cannot agree, the US might attack a specific place. They might try to take control of Kharg Island. This island is very important because it handles most of Iran's oil. If the US takes it, oil prices could go up.
