Why Iran is Attacking the Gulf States (Level 1)

Iran has started a large attack against seven countries in the Gulf region. These countries include Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman. Iran used hundreds of drones and missiles. They did not just hit military bases. They also attacked hotels, airports, and oil fields. This attack is a response to a war started by the United States. Iran is angry and wants to fight back against US allies. Experts believe Iran has three goals. First, they want to hurt the world economy. Because of the attacks, the price of gas and oil has gone up very high. Second, they want to make it hard for the US military to protect everyone. Third, Iran wants the Gulf countries to tell the US to stop the war. Now, the leaders of the Gulf countries have a hard choice. They can fight back, or they can ask for peace. This is a dangerous time because many people in these countries are angry at the US. Whatever happens next, the friendship between these neighbors is broken.
