Prices in the United States are going up fast. Many people thought the US was safe from high oil prices. The US produces a lot of oil. However, a recent war caused global energy prices to rise. The US economy uses a large amount of fossil fuels. Because of this, everything costs more to make and buy. Before the war, US prices were already going up faster than in other countries. Now, the problem is getting worse. Energy prices jumped very high in just a few months. Another problem is politics. The central bank usually stops high prices by making it harder to borrow money. But President Trump wants the bank to keep borrowing costs low. He is changing the bank's leaders. If the bank listens to him, prices might keep going up. This could hurt the economy even more.
