Why You Need the Growth Mindset of a Weed | Stephen Nobles | TED (Level 1)

Stephen Nobles is an educator. He believes curiosity is very important in schools. Curiosity helps us see things not only as they are, but as they can be. When students feel seen, heard, and empowered, they engage more. Their attendance improves, and their grades follow. Nobles says we should be curious, not judgmental. He gives an example. A student in a TED-Ed program surprised adults. The boy wore a hoodie and looked uninterested. But he wanted to talk about trash in space. No one expected that. Nobles says we should see students beyond data. A child is not poor because their parents are poor. We should see what is possible. Nobles learned this from his mother. She called him a weed, a plant growing where it is not expected. He wants students to grow like that. Curiosity can be the fuel that moves us forward.
