The United States might send soldiers to fight in Iran. At first, most people thought this would not happen. President Donald Trump promised to avoid long wars. However, plans are changing. Recently, the President said he is open to sending troops into the country. There are two main reasons for this change. First, the US hoped that a new, friendly leader would take over Iran. This now looks unlikely because the next leader is very strict. Second, the US hoped the Iranian people would protest against their government. Instead, the bombing has made many people angry at America. They are supporting their leaders rather than fighting them. President Trump has big goals for this war. He wants to destroy Iran’s navy and stop them from making nuclear weapons. Experts say that airplanes and bombs cannot do this alone. History shows that an army is usually needed to finish such a big job. While invading Iran is difficult because of the mountains, a ground war is now more likely than before.
