The Taliban government in Afghanistan is having problems with its neighbors. Recently, there has been fighting on the border with Tajikistan. This conflict is not new. It has a long history starting in the 1990s. Tajikistan's president is Emomali Rahmon. He has been the leader for over 30 years. In the past, his government fought a war against groups that the Taliban supported. Because of this, President Rahmon does not trust the Taliban. He believes they help bad groups attack his country. Recently, violence has increased. A drone attack killed Chinese workers inside Tajikistan. There were also gunfights near the border. The Taliban says they did not do it. They blame other terrorist groups like ISIS-K. However, Tajikistan is very angry. They want the Taliban to make the border safe. Right now, it looks like the fighting will continue between these two countries.
